The team at Ben Pearce racing prepared Vital Edition for race seven on the Northam card in a 0 to 68 handicap over a mile racing on a good three with Casey Hunter aboard jumping from barrier one with a field of 8 to compete.

As the field decamped in the K&G Giannotti handicap over 1600m ,& 1st to spring the gates was Warralakin the race leader from lady Trader,  Country Fox was on a go forward early with Vital Edition tucked in fourth on the rail with Barambas Bid on its outer.

Coming to the turn it was still Warralakin in charge Lady Trader had come off its outside, with Country Fox, third Barambas Bid was still between runners with Casey Hunter engaging the familiarity of the inside run to make it interesting on straightening for the judge.

Into the straight Lady Trader got within an inch in front of Waralakin, kicking back on its inside right through underneath runners passing the 200m though was Vital Edition under the urgings of Hunter,  racing to the lead and drawing to the line to pick up the final event by three quarters of a length in a gutsy performance with Lady Trader in second at odds, as Warralakin, the early race leader finished in third position.

Congratulations to Vital Editions connections with a confident spring back to competitive racing witnessed at Northam by their galloper.
