Ben Pearce has prepared one runner for the Belmont turf club race meeting on Saturday, July 18 with Vampi Lass to contest in race seven with the weather predicted to be fine racing on a good 4 the rail position is out 9 metres.

Vampi Lass will compete in the Del Basso Smallgoods handicap over 1200 m with William Pike to ride jumping from barrier three, first up from a spell.

Vampi Lass is a four-year-old Brown mare having start number 23 with three wins and 11 placings earning prize-money in excess of $233,000, prior to a spell she competed in a number of listed events with her most recent outings being at Ascot on December 20 finishing third of 12 over a mile in the Starstruck listed race over a mile with Alan Kennedy aboard landing 4.25 lengths behind the winner and was last seen in January of this year at Ascot taking out the La Trice Group 3 over 1800 m when racing on a good three finished first of eight with Alan Kennedy the pilot arriving half a length in front of her nearest rival.

Vampi Lass always puts in an honest campaign for connections, she comes into this having raced at the track twice for a 3rd, she has contested the distance on 6 occasions for 3 placings and displays first up form of 4 starts for two placings.
