The team at Ben Pearce racing will supply one runner in the form of Vampi Lass  to the Ascot turf club race meeting on Thursday, January 1, with fine conditions forecast racing on a good three with the rail in the inside position.

The team will saddle up Vampi Lass in race five in the La Trice Classic over 1800 m with $150,000 prize-money on offer with Group 3 status, seeing the Pearce prepared runner heading out with Alan Kennedy to ride jumping from barrier one in a small field of eight.

Vampi Lass is a four-year-old Brown mare having started on 21 occasions for two wins 11 placings earning prize-money for connections of just over $136,000, recent efforts have both been at Ascot, the first of which on December 6 finishing fourth of 13 over 1400 meter in the Jungle Dawn when ridden by Peter Hall finished two lengths  from the race winner and was last seen at Ascot on December 20 finishing third of 12 over a mile in the Starstruck (listed) event when ridden by Kennedy finishing 4.25 lengths off the winner in a race time of 1:36.45.

Vampi Lass has contested at Ascot on 14 occasions for 1 win and 7 placings, she has however not competed at the 1800m prior.
