The Ben Pearce racing yard saddled up Vampatorio first up from a spell with Joe Azzopardi aboard to the Belmont race club meeting in a 0 to 64 handicap over a thousand metres with the pair jumping from barrier three with a field of 9 to compete.

On exiting the gates it was Lucy Warwick on the favourite Kamiko first into stride Faith In Fate was outside of that runner at odds, Dawns Flyer was back towards the rail with Dream Merger behind that trio as Azzopardi sat Vampatorio nearer the rail four lengths from the leaders, with the pace genuine on settling 500m into the event.

Coming to the 400m there was no change in the order, Kamiko still had control, Faith In Fate was still there albeit not for long, Dawn's Flyer was behind the leader with Dream Merger the widest runner, as Vampatorio hunted up behind that lot.

Into the straight Kamiko kicked clear, Dream Merger was trying to track that runner down, with Vampatorio running on behind that duo, & on hitting the line, it was Lucy Warwick on Kimiko the race winner, Dream Merger landed in second place, with Vampatorio beating home Dawns Flyer for the third division.
