Ben Pearce will accept with two runners to the Belmont turf club race meeting on Saturday, July 11 with fine conditions forecast the rail position is out 6 m racing on a soft five.

The first of the stable runners will see the talented Mad Brad come out in the Beaufine Stakes of listed quality over 1000 m in race seven with Ms Jerry Noske aboard jumping from barrier 2 in a field of 11.

Mad Brad is four-year-old Bay gelding having start number 16 with five wins and seven placings earning prize-money in excess of $149,000, before going for a break he raced at Ascot on March seven, finishing fourth of 9 over 1400 m with Ben Patterson the pilot arriving a length behind the winner and was last seen  at Geraldton in the Batavia Sprint over 1300 m finishing first of 14 on that occasion with Dom Tourneur the pilot landing the prize by a head in a race time of 1:17.16, picking up $48,000 in beer and wine money for the connections.

The final runner on the card will see Vital Edition second up from a spell, come out in race eight in the happy 30th birthday Jayden Gardner handicap over 1400 m with Peter Knuckey aboard jumping from barrier one in a field of 11.

Vital Edition is a 4-year-old bay gelding having start number 22 with five wins and four placings earning prize-money in excess of $113,000, since resuming this preparation he trialed at Lark Hill on June 15 finishing 5 of 7 over 950 m with Peter Hall aboard arriving 3.5 lengths behind the heat winner and was last seen at Belmont on June 27 finishing 13 of 15 over 1300 m with Chloe Azzopardi aboard arriving 6.25 lengths behind the winner in a time of 1:18.41.

Vital Edition was bred by Colin Pearce and is raced in conjunction with his son, trainer Ben Pearce.
