Daniel and Ben Pearces’ hot form continued at Pinjarra Park on Thursday when Climb On Top and Ultimate Style made it two runners for two winners for the stable.

Debutant Climb On Top ($4.20) kicked off proceedings by making a top start to his career when scoring a convincing win in the Rowdycool Maiden (1200m).

Ridden by Clint Johnston-Porter, the Demerit three-year-old bounced straight to the lead from barrier four and controlled proceedings before giving a strong kick on straightening and accounting for race-favourite Uncle Gerard ($2.35) by almost two-and-a-half lengths.

Crystal Rose ($4) finished a further length away in third place.

Climb On Top had six barrier trials across three preparations prior to Thursday’s race debut but rewarded his connections’ patience with a promising performance.

Meanwhile, stablemate Ultimate Style continued his rapid progression when scoring his third win from only four starts this campaign when taking out the State Wide Turf Services Handicap (1500m).

Backed from $4 into $3.10 in the closing minutes, the Nicconi four-year-old settled one-out and one-back for apprentice Luke Campbell before peeling three-wide approaching the turn and then levelling up to the leader passing the 150m mark.

The big bay clicked into another gear over the final stages and pulled away to defeat Awesome Rival ($2.60) by more than a length, with Comealilbitcloser ($10) a further three-quarter-length away in third place.

Ultimate Style has now had 10 career starts for three wins, three minor placings, eight top-four finishes and looks ready to step up to Saturday city class.

The winning double takes Pearce Racing’s winners tally to 60 for the 2022/23 season, equaling their previous record with more than three months still remaining in the current season.
