The recently extended stables of Ben Pearce saw three runners compete in a three-year-old no metro win last year handicap over 1400m.

They were Rising Sea to be ridden by Jarrad Noske, Jimmy Joe with Peter Hall aboard jumping from barrier (2) and Thunder Boom, a first starter to be ridden by Shaun O’Donnell jumping from barrier (6).

In the early stages of the WA Timber Sales Handicap, it was Rising Sea in advance of Master Magician, Paris Texas was third with Platinum Power who was also prominent, Thunder Boom was back along the rail in advance of Jimmy Joe, who had some chasing to do.

Coming to the turn on heading for home, Rising Sea lead, however, it was Paris Texas the well-supported runner advancing to the lead, to put a margin on the chasing runners.

Thunder Boom let down in the concluding stages to offer connections a promising prep, running into second at great odds, in advance of Rising Sea in third, with Jimmy Joe back fifth on this occasion.
