It was a good line out in the Thirsty Camel Bottle Shop maiden in Bunbury race seven on the card with the Pearce yard supplying two runners.
One the race favourite, Thunder Boom who took over early before Drivin’ Me Wild pushed through to lead under Clint Johnston-Porter with Yutaka following on, the other Pearce runner Jimmy Joe was out towards the tail of the field with 900m to run in the 7th on the card.
Heading for home William Pike box seated on the race favourite, biding his time behind the race leader which was still Drivin’ Me Wild, Thunder Boom cruised up and too over, to bolt well in advance of the next runner, scoring by many lengths on the line to land the maiden at start number 3 with a promising type building a reputation for connections, Mr D Smith.
Miss Rumour Mill finished in second, leaving Coastal Chill next in third, with Jimmy Joe back towards the rear of the pack.
