The Ben Pearce racing team looks likely to supply three thoroughbreds for the Belmont turf club race meeting to be held on Wednesday, September 10 with overcast conditions currently supplying a track rating of a Dead four with the rail out 18 m and the cut away available in the straight.

Ben will supply the first of his two debutantes for the program in race one, in a Westspeed three-year-old handicap over thousand meters with Roman Fighter coming out with Ben Patterson aboard jumping from barrier 11 in a field of 13, there are a number of first starters in this event which makes it difficult to assess, however Roman Fighter's tale of the tape reads he is a Chestnut Colt by Zenstov Street out of Gale Warning (Mighty Avalanche) and will head out in the Green And Gold colors with one Lark Hill barrier trial under his belt on August 25 over 930 meters taking out the event by 2 1/4 lengths to finish first of 10 when ridden by Ben Patterson.

The second of Ben's first starters will come out in race two in the Westspeed three-year-old handicap over 1200 m with Bomber Bay jumping from barrier 10 in a field of 14 with Ben Patterson aboard.

Bomber Bay is by Oratorio out of Bantry Bay (Tale Of The Cat) and will enter the arena in the Red Black Horseshoes Dark Blue Sleeves and Cap, and is prepared for this via a barrier trial at Lark Hill on August 25 over 930 m when ridden by Ben Patterson, taking out the heat by three quarters of the length in a field of nine.

Ben has altered the gear for this assignment by adding a Tongue Tie.

The final runner for the Ben Pearce team will enter in race six in the TABTouch-Home Of Racing and Sports handicap over 1700 m with seasoned galloper, Raising Dubai coming out in saddlecloth six with Peter Hall to ride jumping from barrier six in a field of 12.

Raising Dubai is a five-year-old Bay gelding and is accustomed to competitive racing having had 27 starts for three wins and 11 placings earning prize-money in excess of $100,000, his recent trips to the races have been at Kalgoorlie on August 17 over 2300m, finishing fourth of nine with Ben aboard, he then ventured to Belmont over 2200 on August 30 on a slow six with Ben Patterson again aboard finishing 3 1/4 lengths fourth of nine that time out.

Raising Dubai has placed at this distance previously and has a reasonable record at the track visiting on nine occasions for one win and four placings.
