Talented four-year-old Vital Silver will launch his winter campaign at Pinjarra today.

The Wanted gelding had four starts in his debut race preparation last spring, including three consecutive victories prior to a spell.

Vital Silver currently holds $2.90 pre-post favouritism with TABtouch for today’s Sky Racing TV Provincial Championship Series Heat (1200m) on the back of an impressive Lark Hill trial on April 23.

The big grey was unextended when finishing a close-up third behind stakes performers Durrendal and Art Series in the fastest 950m heat of the morning.

He’ll be partnered by regular rider Jarrad Noske and the Pearce brothers are confident the progressive type will prove hard to beat, however, he’ll have to overcome an awkward alley of barrier eight in the field of 12.

Meanwhile, consistent mare Tap The Go Go ($3.40) will have her first attempt racing beyond 1400m when she contests the Darling View Thoroughbreds Handicap (1600m) at Pinjarra today.

The Discorci four-year-old has raced six times so far this preparation for a win and three minor placings as well as two other top-five finishes.

Alan Kennedy is booked to take the mount aboard Tap The Go Go and the pair will jump from barrier three in a six-horse field following the scratchings of Massa Mac and Quick Reflects.

The Pearce stable have Pushin’ Shapes engaged to race second-up from a spell at Ascot on Saturday while stablemate Money Maher will fly the flag for WA in the $600,000 Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) at Morphetville.
