The Ben Pearce-trained Vampi Lass will commence a campaign aimed towards the Listed Jungle Dawn Classic (1400m), when she starts in the Super Saturday November 22 Handicap (1200m) at Ascot on Wednesday.
The four-year-old proved she was able to perform in black-type races over the autumn, highlighted by a third place finish in the Magic Millions three-year-old Classic behind Testamezzo.
Pearce said he was confident Vampi Lass would be hard to beat, despite having to carry 58kgs.
“It’s a big drop in class for her, she has got good form going back a few runs in Listed class,” Pearce said.
“She’s only a small filly, and she is up in weight tomorrow but she is drawn well, and I think she will be hard to beat."
Pearce believed the 1400m of the Jungle Dawn Classic would get the best out of Vampi Lass.
The only other horse in the field with exposure at black-type level in tomorrow’s 1200m event is the George Daly-trained Alyssa, who finished 10th in the Challenge Stakes at Ascot in February.
The Super Saturday November 22 Handicap is the fourth event on the eight-race program, and jumps at 3.10pm, with the opening event set to jump at 1.15pm.
