The Ascot race meeting to be held on Saturday, November 8 will host 2 Ben Pearce runners to the final event on the card with conditions supplied as fine racing on a good three with the rail out 6 m.


Vital Edition will be looking at four in a row when he comes out in the Westspeed Stayers Bonus Handicap over 2200m wearing saddlecloth 1 to be ridden by claiming apprentice Joseph Azzopardi (a2) jumping from barrier 4 with the second Ben Pearce runner being Raising Dubai to be ridden by Peter Hall jumping from barrier one wearing saddlecloth 3 in a field of 11.


Vital Edition is a four-year-old Bay gelding, raced by the Pearce family having contested on 16 occasions for five wins and two placings earning prize-money in excess of $97,000, the Bay is in a purple patch of form lately  having won at Belmont on September 24 over 1650m, again at Belmont on October 8 over 1700m and was last seen winning at Ascot over 1755m in a field of seven landing the prize by 2 1/4 lengths in a race time of 1:47.67 with the last 600m in 34.92, with all wins this preparation coming through the racing hands of Peter Hall.


Vital Edition is weighted at 59 kg for this outing with the claim of 2kg coming via jockey Azzopardi.


Raising Dubai is a five-year-old Bay gelding having start number 32 with 5 wins and 11 placings earning prizemoney in excess of $151,000, his form this prep has been solid, winning the Toodyay Cup over 1850 m on September 28 over 1850 m, then travelled to Belmont winning on that occasion over 2000 m on October 11 with Hall in charge landing the prize by a quarter of a length in a race time of 2:08 .36 when travelling worse than midfield before landing the prize in the final stages, he travelled to Ascot on October 25 finishing midfield fourth of 8 over 2200m finishing 1 3/4 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 2:20.72 with the last 600m 34.71 when again ridden in the back part of the field.
