The Ben Pearce prepared, Snitzblitz, headed to the Bunbury race club meeting on Monday, December 28 with fine conditions forecast racing on a good 4, the rail position was out 3 m with the cutaway in the straight for the eight event program.
The sole stable runner, Snitzblitz competed in the Dixon Financial group maiden over 1208 m with Peter Hall the pilot jumping from barrier 12 in a field of 13.
After leaving the gates it was Mickey Trader at odds of almost 100 to 1, fast into stride Secret Ensign, the well supported runner was in second, Cito was in third with Laurensen in the leading division, as well as Bergio whom had settled on the fence.
Entering the turn Cito, Mickey Trader and Secret Ensign, had appeared to have all run their races, Laurensen was the horse most had their eye on however as it cruised up on the inside to race clear of the fast finishing Sharreada, who was coming down the outside from a rear- wood position, alongside Snitzblitz who was knuckling down for a bigger piece of the pie, Coming to the line however it was Laurensen landing the prize by near 3/4 of a length to the two black bookers in Sharreada (Pike) & Snitzblitz (Hall) who hit the line late to show plenty of merit.
