Ben Pearce has accepted with one runner in the form of Roman Fighter to the Belmont turf club meeting on Wednesday, September 9 with fine conditions forecast racing on a good three the rail position is out 18m, with a cut away in the straight.

The soul stable runner Roman Fighter will come out in race five in a 1000 meter handicap with Peter Hall aboard jumping from barrier five in a field of nine.

Roman Fighter is a four-year-old gelding having start number six with one win and three placings earning prize-money in excess of $21,000, recent efforts have been at Belmont in a barrier trial finishing first of 10 on August 17 over a thousand metres with Paul Harvey aboard arriving 1.75 lengths behind the heat winner, & was last seen at Belmont on August 26 finishing second of eight over a thousand metres with Peter Hall the pilot arriving 3.35 lengths behind the winner in a time of 58.30 with the last 600m, 34.16.
