Debutante Roman Fighter took part in a class one handicap at Bunbury in race six on Sunday, March 1 with Ben Patterson aboard jumping from barrier seven in a field of 10.

As the lids flew open it was Heez Our Wally who was fast into stride Second Eleventh was second in the sprint with Roman fighter displaying a good attitude first time out to be positioned in third with Nova Park in fourth as the field spread across the track entering the turn.

On straightening it was Heez Our Wally still dictating, with Chance Decore was prominent and Roman Fighter was digging deep in the concluding stages and as they drew to the wire it was Heez Our Wally leading from start to finish with Roman Fighter digging deep on debut, to finish a quarter of a length off the winner with Seul Home flying down the outside to land third with Chance Decore, first up from a spell landing in fourth.
