The Team At Ben Pearce will saddle up one runner to the Belmont turf club race meeting on Saturday, October 3, with fine conditions forecast racing on a good three the rail is out 6m.

The soul stable runner Roman Fighter will come out in race seven in the Amelia Park handicap over 1200m of BM60+ grade with Peter Hall aboard jumping from barrier six in a field of 11.

Roman Fighter is a four-year-old chestnut gelding having start number eight with two wins and three placings earning prize-money in excess of $32,000, recent efforts have both been at Belmont, the first of which on September 9 finishing first of seven over a thousand metres when racing on a good three in a 0 to 68 handicap with Peter Hall aboard landed the prize by 1.25 lengths in front of the nearest runner in a time of 57.97 with the last 600m in 33.73 and was last seen at the same venue on September 19 finishing eight of 10 over 1200m with Peter Hall in charge landing 19.1 lengths behind the winner in a race time of 1:11.25 with the last 600m in 35.48.
