Rich Enuff three-year-old Richanco made a promising start to his career at Pinjarra on Wednesday when romping in the Swan Draught Maiden (1200m) on debut.

Backed from $4.20 into $2.70 favouritism, the big brute of a gelding jumped from barrier one and was sent straight to the lead by in-form hoop Chris Parnham before railing nicely and extending over the late stages to win by more than three lengths.

Olivia’smemumma ($7.50) finished in second place, with Kings Salute ($7.50) a further long neck away in third.

Purchased by Pearce Racing for $45,000 at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions sale, Richanco put the writing on the wall for his first-up win with a trial win at Lark Hill on March 25 and had performed impressively in two other trials across different preparations in 2023.

The win was co-trainer Daniel and Ben Pearce’s 54th for the 2023/24 season so far.

Meanwhile, stablemates Rainline and Mystery Bullet each finished second and fourth in their respective races on the day.

Lips Don’t Lie and Call Me Violet will race for the stable at Albany on Thursday before Saturday’s WATC Derby meeting at Ascot where Lord Vampi, Triple Jay, Galaxy Affair, Influencing, Oly’s Choice and Exceltrain are engaged.
