Rhinos Lad saddled up in the George Taylor Memorial handicap at Mount Barker, in race six on the card with Peter Hall aboard jumping from barrier eight.
As the starter let them go in the 1100m event the first runner to roll forward was Rituals, setting a hectic pace Ellen’s Choice was second with Barney Beau back towards the rail, Jungle Scandal pushed Rhinos Lad wide as the field entered the straight.
Rituals led for most of the way until challenged by Real Target, with the late finishing Rhinos Lad grabbing the prize in the concluding stages to chalk up a victory this preparation in advance of Real Target with Fast Spring in third.
