Ben Pearce saddled up Proud History to career start number one in a maiden plate over 1216 m at Bunbury on Wednesday, January 14, with Casey Hunter aboard jumping from barrier 11 with a field of 10 to compete.
After jumping towards the rear on settling, Casey gave the 4-year-old Mare, a niggle, & via the 400m, allowed her partner to run up underneath the field to be on the rail with three runners behind them , anticipating the cut away rail, as the straight loomed in front of the field.
Into the turn Hunter was asking for an effort with the first starter, whom began to run on strongly, the race favorite Congoize, had loomed large and kicked in the concluding stages to win the second on the card, ahead of Secret Assault in second with a nice first up outing by Proud History seen on this occasion.
