Stable runner Prince Friar saddled up as top weight (57 kg) in race 4 in the Bunbury Motel Maiden Plate over 1300 m with Glen Smith aboard jumping from barrier 4 in the field of 11 with the three year old gelding second up from a spell.
On landing Prince Friar was fast into stride to take up a leaders roll with The Swallow applying pressure early after being slow out the gates with Cabana Boy forward, and She Rules All prominent heading around the side with the order remaining similar on approaching the straight.
Glen let the Ben Pearce trained galloper go into the straight and was in no danger heading to the line in a great display for connections with the gelding unchallenged beating home She Rules All from Western Belle and Cabana Boy in fourth.
