Prince Friar was sent out race favourite at Bunbury in the last event on the card in a class one handicap on Monday, January 26 with the well supported commodity jumping from barrier eight in a field of 16 with Glenn Smith to ride the last start winner.
In an even dispatch Glenn Smith elected to be the front runner and took Prince Friar to the lead on settling with Riding Shotgun in second Sochi was third with Heez Our Wally taking a prominent forward position to be fourth in the event.
Around the side it was still Prince Friar looking the likely winner Riding Shotgun was still second Heez Our Wally moved up to 3rd with Our Meerkat in four position with Demuro looking for a passage and Scenic Lord jumping onto the back of the leading bunch heading for the judge
Into the straight it was Prince Friar with a kick shifting out to the centre of the track, with a run at presenting for Demuro with Scenic Lord coming through from the fast finishing Scandalous Lady and as they drew to the line it was Demuro landing the large end of the prize with Prince Friar a half length away in second and Scenic Lord bobbing out the the late contestant in the 12 saddle cloth (Scandalous Lady).
