Last start winner Poet’s Tale accepted in the final event on the Northam program in race seven in a 0 to 64 handicap over a mile with Ms Casey Hunter aboard the last up winner jumping from barrier six with a field of 10 to compete.
As the starter released in the Red Robin hospitality handicap, Flirty Lady was first into stride Mambokadzi was second just shaded after a couple of hundred metres by Poet’s Tale with Partonian in third with Cyberpunk & Immense back on settling in the last event on the card.
Coming to the turn Flirty Lady led by a length, Poet’s Tale was off its rump issuing a challenge, Mambokadzi was tucked in on the fence, as Cyberpunk was being introduced out wide under the urgings of O’Donnell with the last start winner looking confident on straightening.
Into the straight Flirty lady kicked Cyberpunk was let go with Poet’s Tale between runners and all the way, scrubbing with Mambokadzi until the concluding stages leaving Cyberpunk the race winner by a length to Mambokadzi with Poet’s Tale at odds in third.
