Shooting To Win four-year-old Platinum Shot landed her second win from three starts this campaign when dominating the Racing WA Provincial Championship Series Heat (1190m) at Narrogin on Sunday.

Despite being a late drifter from $3.30 to $5, the mare always looked the winner when travelling well in the one-out and one-back position in running under jockey Tash Faithfull.

Faithfull peeled the bay to the outside turning for home and she produced a strong finish to bound away from her rivals and win by more than two-and-a-half lengths passing the line.

Like No Other ($4) finished second, with Speed Bubble ($5.50) a further head away in third place.

The Yarradale Stud-bred Platinum Shot has been a model of consistency throughout her career to date and has now had 20 career starts for four wins, nine minor placings and $145,754 in total earnings.

Sunday’s race qualifies her for the $100,000 Racing WA Provincial Championship Series Final to be run over 1400m at Belmont Park on Saturday May 17.

Pearce Racing will have 11 horses trial at Belmont on Monday, including last-start narrow Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic runner-up, Perfectly Proper, who is being aimed at the $500,000 Group 2 Karrakatta Plate on April 26.
