The Pearce Racing team celebrated their second Saturday-winning double in as many weeks after Let’s Twist and Angelic Ruler continued the stable’s good form at Ascot on Saturday.

The exciting Angelic Ruler, a Universal Ruler three-year-old, justified her $1.70 favouritism with a dominant display in the Amelia Park Beef Handicap (1400m) when scoring a last-to-first win by one-and-a-quarter lengths.

Ridden by Tayla Stone, the filly showed her toughness after backing up from her ultra-impressive first-up win last Saturday and appears destined for stakes-level success.

Angelic Ruler has won four of her seven starts, with earnings of more than $270,000 including Westspeed bonuses.

Meanwhile, Statue of Liberty mare Let’s Twist ($10.60) scored the first Saturday win of her 31-start career when taking out the Tony Fitzgerald 70th Birthday Handicap (1600m) in the race prior.

The six-year-old made an eye-catching return when storming home from ninth position to finish third over 1400m at Pinjarra on December 12 and handled a rise in grade to account for the well-supported favourite, Nordic King ($1.70), by a long-neck.

Saturday’s victory extends Let’s Twist’s record to six wins, eight placings and earnings of $120,290.

Co-trainers Daniel and Ben Pearce prepared Angelic Ruler and Vital Silver to victory at Ascot last Saturday and have saddled-up seven winners and eight placegetters from their last 29 starters.
