Amelia Park-owned four-year-old Monsoon won at his first start for the Pearce stable at Northam on Thursday.
The Street Cry gelding was the Southwest breeding operation’s first runner for Daniel and Ben Pearce and got the association off to a flyer with a barnstorming run when racing first-up in the Support The Farmers Maiden (1300m).
Having his eighth race start and his first since May 17, Monsoon ($3.40 fav) flew home from 11th position at the turn to beat Reaction ($8.50) by more than a length.
Paddy O’Furniture ($21.80) finished a further nose away in third place.
Meanwhile, the Pearce brothers’ Group Three-winning filly, Agent Pippa, will make her race return at Belmont this Saturday.
The Demerit three-year-old hasn’t raced since winning the Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) in March.
Time To Hunt and Woolibar are also engaged at the Belmont Newmarket meeting.
