The Ben Pearce team supplied race favorite Mad Brad to race 7 at the Belmont TAB metropolitan race meeting held under improved conditions on Saturday, August 23 with an upgraded track rating posted at a Dead 4 for the event.

As the red light flashed at the 1300m mark and the gates flew back, Mad Brad was late into stride, and from the deep had Hall settling his charge at the rear of the field, Rusty Peaches dictated terms with Numerous Secrets 2nd, De Andes sat deep third and Lost Heritage was fourth round the back, as the Ben Pearce commodity whipped the runners in coming round the side.

Coming to the 400m the up front order was unchanged with Rusty Peaches still showing the way, Mad Brad was still trailing the event as the commentary was calling for a bit of luck, Peter Hall knew what he had under him as the beautifully prepared Ben Pearce runner threaded the needle, with the years of experience by Hall  there for all to admire.

Coming to the final stages De Andes gave a kick and looked like taking out the 7th on the card, but off his hip was the fast finishing Mad Brad and coming to the line he scored by three quarters of a length to De Andes, with the fast finishing Galoubay in third and Chorus Boy in fourth.

Congratulations to Ben Pearce and Ben Jones on their thoroughbreds victory.
