Progressive four-year-old Let’s Galahvant continued his brilliant rise through the grades with another win at Belmont on Saturday.
The Galah gelding was having his 11th start of a breakout campaign when backed from $5.50 into $4.20 in the Byron Bay Premium Lager Handicap (1400m) and landing the sixth win of his preparation.
Ridden by Chris Parnham, Let’s Galahvant jumped from barrier one and settled in the box seat before getting held up for clear running until the 200m mark.
Parnham was able to find an opening and the in-form bay took full advantage, charging past his rivals to defeat Em Tee Aye ($4) by a half length, with Brooklyn Pier ($13) a further half-length away in third place.
Purchased for only $10,000 at the 2020 Perth Magic Millions sale, Let’s Galahvant how build up a sensational record of 14 career starts for seven wins, three minor placings, 13 top-four finishes and $251,490 in stake earnings and Westspeed Platinum bonuses.
He’s now set to have his 12th and likely final start of his campaign in either the $150,000 Listed Hannans Handicap (1400m) at Kalgoorlie on Thursday September 29 or an $80,000 1300m 72+ event on Kalgoorlie Cup day two days later.
The Pearce stable has prepared a state-leading 18 winners in the first seven weeks of the season.
