The Ben Pearce racing stables supplied Le Patron, first up from a spell at Ascot in race one in a three-year-old NMW handicap over a thousand metres with Paul Harvey the pilot jumping from barrier 2, with a field of 8 to compete.
As the gates drew open in the Flying Colours Of Summer Special thousand meter sprint, the early race leader was Castle Queen with Drill And Blast in second, Bisanto was third with War Blossom in fourth as Le Patron settled on the fence waiting for Harvey to weave some old style magic as the field cornered for the judge.
Castle Queen took off in the straight and gave plenty of cheek, Le Patron was looking for an out & under the hard working Harvey eventually got into some space, winding up down the middle of the track, with the 3-year-Old Street Boss commodity running home strongly to finish first by half a length on the line to Bisanto, with a further .05 length back to War Whispers in third.
A great return to racing by the filly to chalk up win number 2 at start number 4 for owner Mr T McKee.
