The Ben Pearce prepared Lady Natesa headed out to the Narrogin races on Friday, February 20 in a class one handicap over 1190 m with Ben Patterson the pilot jumping from barrier three in a field of 10 racing on a good three.

As the starter released in the Judd and Barbie travelling Oz sponsored race seven event on the card it was Steel Vine the race leader, Bad Bear was off its rump in second Fulzip was one off the fence with Heeza Torio inside of that runner with Lady Natesa patiently ridden by Patterson midfield on passing the 600m.

Coming to the 400m the first four were unchanged with Steel Vine still the race leader Bad Bear was getting the stitch, Heeza Torio was still handy Fulzip was dropping off with Ben Patterson peeling to the outside of runners to be the widest runner upon entering the straight.

As they headed to the judge Paterson let go of his charge with Lady Natesa responding magnificently with the beautifully prepared four-year-old mare accelerating to the front putting the result beyond doubt a fairway from home with Lady Natesa scoring by 2 1/2 lengths to Balrov with Heeza Torio in third in a race time of 1:11.79 for the trip.

Congratulations to the ownership group consisting of Mr B M Pearce, Mr G J Nelson, Ms J A Wilson, Mr G S Shaw, Mr B Mehan, Mr S J Orrock, Mrs A Forrest, Mr T D Forrest, The Border Connection on their triumphant return to the winners circle.
