Safeguard five-year-old Kiralui atoned for her last-start defeat when saluting at Bunbury on Sunday.
The mare over-raced fiercely when a beaten $1.70 favourite at Belmont at her previous start on September 11 but was back to her best at Bunbury when finishing off powerfully in the Bunbury Loyalty Program – Join The Club Handicap (1400m).
Starting a $5 chance with Steven Parnham aboard, the chestnut settle three-wide with cover before peeling four-wide approaching the turn and letting down with a strong turn of foot to hit the front and score by a long neck.
Race-favourite Jelly Can Run ($4.80) finished in second place, with Looks ($8) a further half-length away in third.
Bred and owned by Namerik Thoroughbreds, Kiraui has won two of her four starts this campaign to take her career record to 12 starts for three wins, two minor placings and $75,208 in total earnings.
The Pearce stable has prepared 13 winners in the first seven-and-a-half weeks of the 2024/25 season.
