Oratorio three-year-old Influencing made a winning start to his preparation at Pinjarra Scarpside on Sunday when taking out the TABtouch Same Race Multi Maiden (1200m).
Ridden by Natasha Faithfull who also partnered stablemate Blue Rocket to victory at Ascot the day prior, the gelding started an $8 chance when jumping from barrier one and settled leaders-back in running before sticking to the rail on straightening and finishing strongly.
He appeared likely to run second passing the 200m mark, however, he dug in deep over the final furlong to reel in Lombadina ($7.50) and score by a long neck on the line.
Sandfire Rose ($7) finished a further length away in third place.
Purchased by Pearce Racing at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions sale and owned by an all-ladies syndicate, Influencing is the sixth all-ladies horse raced by Pearce Racing and all six gallopers have now won.
The gelding’s first-up victory caps off a great weekend for the stable, with its nine runners netting three wins, a second and a third.
Pearce Racing has prepared 43 winners for the 2023/24 season to date, the second-highest tally in WA.
