I Am Invincible two-year-old Cos I Am made an auspicious debut at Belmont Park on Thursday when taking out the Quayclean Maiden (1000m) in smart fashion.

The prized filly was backed from $6 to $3.10 second-favouritism prior to the jump and was fractious in the barriers which caused her to miss the start by two lengths and she still found herself second-last in the eight-horse field as they straightened for home.

Ridden by Chris Parnham, she was extricated into the clear at the 250m mark and let down with a booming finish to reel in race-favourite One Last Resort ($2.80) inside the 100m mark and she pulled away late to win by half a length.

Luminous Lil ($3.40) finished a further one-and-a-quarter lengths away in third place.

Cos I Am reeled off a slick final last 600m of 33:33 which was only bettered by stablemate Perfect Chant from the seven races on the day when the four-year-old ran home in 33:27 to finish third in the $5m BYD Quokka 18th April 2026 Handicap (1000m).

Purchased by Pearce Racing in conjunction with Yarradale Stud and Boomer Bloodstock for $500,000 at the 2025 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Cos I Am is the highest-priced yearling to join the stable and has made a perfect start to her career.

Meanwhile, the Pearce stable will saddle up Sensessional and Oly’s Choice in the $125,000 Listed Old Comrade Stakes at Ascot on Friday, as well as Blue Mozart, Celebrity Angel, Eight Count and Scenic George in support race on the 10-event card.

Stablemates Acromantula, Influencing, Decoration and Manhattan Strip will step out at Ascot on Saturday before Outspoken Lad contests the $125,000 Wellington & Reeves Albany Community Cup (2100m) on Sunday.
