The Wanted gelding finished just a long-neck second to Master Magician in the Toodyay Cup on September 23 and appears to be locked in a two-horse race with last-start winner Trap For Fool in today’s event.

Mitchell retains the mount aboard Defiancy and the pair will jump from barrier two in an eight-horse field.

Scandal Keeper four-year-old Churches was lucky not to fall when on the receiving end of interference at his last start, however, he’s capable of sharp improvement in today’s Community TAB Maiden (1300m) on the strength of his two runs prior to that.

The gelding will be ridden by Hall for the first time in the race and rates as first-three chance from barrier four in the 12-horse field.

Three-year-old’s Racy Ava and Nobel Suspect were scratched from today’s York meeting in preference for races at Northam on Sunday.

The Pearce stable have Watto’s Fury, Pushin’ Shapes, Tenterden and A Private Party engaged at Saturday’s Belmont meeting.
