Flight Of Fancy teamed up with Troy Turner at the 2000m event at Bunbury in a 0-64 handicap race with a field of 13 lining up in race 4 on the program.
The gates flew back and the field left as one with Turner settling the beautifully prepared last start winner back in a relaxed position with the bulk of the runners in front of them.
Coming around the side, Turner started to urge his mount for the run home and almost in unison the other contestants started their runs as the field stacked on the turn heading for home.
Flight Of Fancy was the widest runner and although shaping as the winner, seemed to be resenting the persuader, Troy eased off and under vigorous riding balanced his charge up to take out the event by a length on the line.
