Reliable Man five-year-old Eternal Romance landed the first win of her preparation third-up at Northam on Thursday when taking out the Kunine Grazing Handicap (1600m).
Starting the $3.20 favourite with Tash Faithfull aboard off the back of two slashing runs to kick off her campaign, the mare settled one-out and two-back in running before peeling out into the moving line from the 800m.
Faithfull pushed the button at the top of the straight and the grey quickly responded by dashing to the lead passing the 250m mark and she pulled away late to defeat Maximum Impact ($101) by a length.
Let Sparks Fly ($18) finished a further half-length away in third place.
Bred by Westbury Park in New Zealand, Eternal Romance has had 21 career starts for three wins and four minor placings and looks set for a fruitful campaign as the distances increase.
Meanwhile, stablemates Art Session and Miss Bickmore ran third and fourth respectively on the eight-event Northam card.
Pearce Racing will saddle up Properata, Spinarella, Queen Of Hawks at Belmont on Saturday before Sunday’s Kalgoorlie meeting where Sippa Spritz, Hurricane Ruler, Rainline and White Hot are engaged.
