Four-year-old mare Dun With The Blues continued her promising progression when bringing up her second win from three starts this preparation at Belmont on Wednesday.

Starting on the second line of betting at $4.60 in the Amelia Park Handicap (1700m) off the back of a narrow runner-up finish at her previous outing, the daughter of Dundeel was settled one-out and two-back by rider Clint Johnston-Porter in running.

Johnston-Porter peeled three-wide to put her into the race approaching the home turn and the bay let down with a powerful finish, reeling in her rivals before pulling away over the final stages to score by one-and-a-half lengths.

Ocean Queen ($11) finished second with Runforrob ($13) a further half-length away in third place.

Dun With The Blues has now had six career starts for two wins and three second placings, with her only unplaced effort coming at her race debut in December last year.

The Pearce stable will saddle-up Let’s Galahvant and Influencing at Belmont on Saturday before Sunday’s Kalgoorlie’s meeting where Flying The Flag, Mystery Bullet, Galaxy Affair, Bird’s The Word and Westriver Miracle are engaged.
