The Ben Pearce yard saddled up Le Patron to a class three handicap at Northam in race six, with Joseph Azzopardi aboard jumping from barrier (9) in a field of nine.
As the runners left the stalls in the West Australian newspaper event over 1300 m the first runner to land was Nahgo, Criminal Strike was next with Dylicious Secret in advance of Chancery whom sat fourth on the outside, Le Patron & the well supported William Pike runner Cool Image were toward the tail of the field early in the event.
On turning for home Nahgo and Criminal Strike were still there Dylicious Secret was also prominent, nearer the inside saw Do You Do running on gamely, as Le Patron and Cool Image were running together, finishing on strongly over the concluding stages, with Le Patron gaining the upper hand in the latter part of proceedings to land the prize in advance of Cool Image with Do You Do back to the inside running third on this occasion.
Congratulations to Mr T A McKee, owner of Le Patron with his victory in the class three handicap at Northam, with a well selected event chosen by trainer Ben Pearce.
