Speedy filly Cosmopolitan Girl brought up a winning hat-trick at Belmont on Monday when producing a dominant performance in the Schweppes Handicap (1000m).
Coming off wins at Northam and Belmont at her previous two starts, the Safeguard three-year-old justified her $2.25 favouritism when jumping straight to the lead and showing her 10 rivals a clean pair of heels, romping in by more than three lengths with apprentice jockey Luke Campbell aboard.
Pure Dynamite ($41) finished in second place, with Romero ($7) a further half-length away in third.
After contesting Saturday races in her first five race starts as a two-year-old, the all-ladies-owned Cosmopolitan Girl has benefited from being taken through her classes this campaign and has now raced 11 times for three wins, two minor placings, eight top-five finishes and $106,242 in prizemoney and Westspeed Platinum bonuses.
Pearce Racing’s all-ladies syndicates are enjoying a stellar run at the moment with Cosmopolitan Girl and Defending winning a combined six races from their past seven appearances.
Meanwhile, the in-form yard will launch a two-pronged attack in Thursday’s $150,000 Listed Hannans Handicap (1400m) at Kalgoorlie with Dig Deep and Let’s Galahvant, while stablemate Risky Lyrics is also set to travel to the Goldfields to line up in a support race on the eight-event card.
