The team at Ben Pearce racing prepared stable runner Corse He's Quick to his first career start as a four-year-old in a maiden plate over 1100m, at Northam with Peter Hall the pilot jumping from barrier five with a field of 13 to go around.
As the field dispatched in the Northam mitre 10 maiden there was no apparent leader as Hall realised that Corse He's Quick was keen on towing the pair into the race, leaving Peter happy to give a little reign, and on settling it was Corse He's Quick the front runner, This Fox Rocks was second with Production in third, with the field bunching in clumps with two groups establishing there positions as they settled into stride.
Coming into the straight Corse He's Quick went for home Production was in second with This Fox Rocks and Shadow Of A Girl running on trying to catch the leader, that was ever so green but running on pure ability, nothing was really making too much ground on the race leader, until out of the pack Slap N Tickle put in the big strides in the concluding stages to bob out a gallant Corse He's Quick in second, Production hung on to finish third.
A nice effort for connections after a patient wait.
