Exciting four-year-old Cliffs Of Comfort landed his fourth win from five career starts when racing second-up from a spell at Belmont on Saturday.

Ridden by Joseph Azzopardi, the Canford Cliffs gelding started the $2.80 favourite in the Vale Majorie Charleson Handicap (1200m) and had to do it the tradesman’s way when sitting outside of a strong tempo set by race-leader Mia Dolce ($21), however, he showed his toughness by hitting the lead at the 200m mark and pulling away to score by more than a length on the line.

Mia Dolce stuck on well for second place, with Double Bubble ($11) a further three-quarter length away in third.

Cliffs Of Comfort burst onto the racing scene when winning his first three starts in the autumn before returning with a third-placed finish over 1000m first-up on August 1.

The talented sprinter relished the extra 200m and improved fitness levels in Saturday’s event and has now accumulated $191,500 in stake earnings and bonuses.
