The Ben Pearce Racing Yard supplied Cheap Express to race three on the Bunbury card in a three-year-old maiden plate over 1410 m racing on a good three with Paul Harvey aboard jumping from barrier 10 with a field of 9 to compete.
When the field dispatched in the streamline underground services event, the race leader was Braquo, Cheap Express took up a forward position from the wide alley, settling on the leaders outside with Tame Impala back to the plastic, Skylar Storm was next, a length behind that runner tight up against the running rail.
Towards the Turn Paul Harvey settled his runner quietly and allowed Braquo to create the pace for the race, Skylar Storm in the interim was waiting for the cutaway, which in the straight was offered, William Pike to the opportunity to race up under the leader, hitting the front in the concluding stages, Cheap Express tried hard to real in the leader but had to settle for second on this occasion, however in doing so put in her best run to date. (Braquo finished in third).
