Ben Pearce saddled up last start winner Chanzig for the Ascot turf club race meeting on Saturday, December 6 racing on a good 4 with the rail out 6m, Alan Kennedy was the pilot jumping from barrier 4 in a handy field of nine two year olds.

Leaving the gates Kennedy had his charge out midfield and on settling it was Strate Red the lamplighter, Silk Act was back in second Castle Queen was third Ningbo was in fourth with Chanzig settling worse than midfield.

Round the side the orders  up from was unchanged as Kennedy came of heals to start a run for the judge upon entering the straight.

Heading down the straight Invincible Man back on the paint hit the lead as Kennedy unleashed Chanzig out wide, but sneaking through with a well timed run was Diamond Tonique, hitting the front  in the concluding stages to land the prize a quarter to Chanzig with Lord Conrad in third.
