Real Impact three-year-old Madame Magic made an exciting start to her career at Ascot on Tuesday when charging home to score a brilliant win in the Crown Perth Maiden (1200m).

Starting a $17 outsider with Joseph Azzopardi aboard, the filly came from the second-half of the field to unleash a barnstorming finish and swoop past her rivals and score by almost one-and-a-half lengths.

Race-favourite Forever Classic ($2.25) finished in second place, with second-favourite Just A Rumour ($3.20) one-and-a-half lengths lengths away in third.

Purchased for $40,000 at the 2021 Gold Coast Magic Millions sale, Madame Magic has always given the stable the impression she’ll develop into a lovely middle-distance type so her debut win over 1200m is especially promising.

The filly’s half-sister, by Maurice, sold for $260,000 at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Meanwhile, fellow Pearce-trained gallopers Galaxy Affair and Bold Street both finished second in their respective races at Ascot and Geraldton on Melbourne Cup day.

The Pearce brothers have prepared 28 winners so far in the 2022/23 season, placing them seven clear at the top of the state premiership.
