The Ben Pearce racing team supplied one runner to the Belmont race meeting on Saturday, May 2 with Bomber Bay 3rd up from a spell with Alan Kennedy aboard jumping from barrier 4 in a field of nine in the Mitavite Airr W.A. handicap over 1400m.

As the field left the stalls racing on a good three the early leader was Tiger Red with good recent form taking the field down the back with Leonorasensation in second North Ridge the favourite was camped third on the rail with the Ben Pearce prepared Bomber Bay in fifth on the plastic with Our Finest Moment also prominent.

Entering the 400m, Kennedy handed out a crack across the rump of Bomber Bay, in an attempt to switch on the 3-year-old gelding, Tiger Red seemed to have a kicked away midway down the straight but Our Finest Moment had other ideas North Ridge, was looking for an out with Bomber Bay making a desperate challenge running on from behind the leading pack however coming to the line it would be Our Finest Moment landing the prize a half a length back to the unlucky  favourite North Ridge, whom got out when it was all over, with the flying Bomber Bay, coming from back in the field to put in a solid effort for connections.
