Ben Pearce saddled up the handy Beinn Nibheis to Bunbury race eight on Wednesday, 8th of April over 1100 m with the last start winner to be ridden by Peter Hall jumping from barrier 4 in a field of 13.
As the gates flew back in the Radio West handicap Beinn Nibheis was again slow into stride and in the early stages of the event worked up to have three runners behind him, as the field strung out passing the 800m, it was Fortius Quo Vadis the race leader, Fast Spring was second in front of Steal Vine, who was back on the plastic with Impulse Fighter off its hip in third.
As the field entered the straight it was Fortius Quo Vadis narrowly leading with Fast Spring running second the rest of the field were off the bit, as the only two runners running on were Beinn Nibheis, after missing the start and Tranquilla Sunrise who was making inroads down the outside of the track to attack the leading division, and on passing the 200m, the early leaders were relegated to fight out the minors, as Beinn Nibheis and Tranquilla Sunrise went stride for stride and as they reached the line it was…… Tranquilla Sunrise by three quarters of a length to the honest Beinn Nibheis with Fortius Quo Vadis in third, with Fast Spring from a wide gate, in fourth position some three lengths back from the leading pair.
