The all-ladies-owned Cosmopolitan Girl scored the fourth win of her campaign at Northam on Sunday when producing another all-the-way victory in the AFGRI Equipment Handicap (1000m).

Starting on the third line of betting at $4.40 and ridden by apprentice Taj Dyson, the Safeguard three-year-old sprung the gates before taking up her customary role in the lead.

The speedy chestnut filly gave her rivals the slip at the top of the straight and was able to lift again over the final stages to hold off the fast-finishing Tales Of Manhattan ($7.50) by just under a length on the line.

Men’s Club ($3.10) finished a further half-length away in third place.

Purchased for $80,000 at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions sale, Cosmopolitan Girl has come of age this spring and has now had 13 career starts for four wins, two minor placings and $142,362 in stake earnings and Westspeed Platinum bonuses.

The in-form Pearce stable have Roch Legacy engaged to race at Ascot on Wednesday and Fiorucci Mama at Thursday’s Northam meeting.
