Stablemates Under Influence and Ultimate Style gave Pearce Racing their second-consecutive midweek double at Belmont on Wednesday when taking out their respective races.
Caravaggio three-year-old Under Influence ($3) finished powerfully in the Amelia Park Maiden (1200m) to score his first win at only his second career start when producing a sharp turn-of-foot from the second half of his 11-horse field.
Ridden by Clint Johnston-Porter, the gelding settled four-back on the rail through the early and middle stages before working into the clear on straightening and running over the top of Canny Rock ($21) to score by a neck.
Private Sapling ($5) finished a further nose away in third place.
Purchased for only $15,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast National Yearling Sale, Under Influence has now had two career starts for a win and a second placing and appears to have a bright future ahead.
Later in the program progressive Nicconi four-year-old Ultimate Style ($2.90) landed his second win from three starts this campaign when leading from start to finish in the Free Entry To Belmont Park Handicap (1650m).
Ridden by apprentice Luke Campbell, the big gelding jumped from barrier six before working his way to the top and gave a good kick on straightening to hold off Ace Command ($4.80) by a length on the line.
Silver Bugg ($5) finished a further length away in third place.
Ultimate Style has now had nine career starts for two wins, three minor placings and looks likely to continue to improve as he steps up further in distance.
The in-form Pearce saddle will have eight runners on Good Friday, with Deep Envy the sole representation at Ascot while Flying The Flag, Well Played, Grece Lightning, Wise Words, Bold Street, Celebrity Witness and Anna’s Boy line up at Kalgoorlie.
