Exciting three-year-old Triple Jay scored a dominant victory at Pinjarra Park on Sunday when romping in the Work Clobber Mandurah Handicap (1200m) by four lengths.
Backed into raging $1.28 favouritism, the Street Boss gelding jumped straight to the lead for jockey William Pike and reeled off a slick final 600m sectional of 33:91 to easily account for his five rivals and run the fastest time of the four 1200m races on the day.
Dazzling Dane ($10) ran on from last to finish second, with Kick A Goal Son ($14) a further one-and-a-half lengths away in third place.
Bred by Oakland Park, Triple Jay is an impressive type and has now raced four times for two wins, a second and $51,593 in stake earnings and Westspeed bonuses.
The victory brought up a 75-win milestone for Pearce Racing for the 2022/23 season so far and the in-form stable have a strong team featuring Galaxian Girl, Super Romani, Madame Magic, Bird’s The Word, Climb On Top and Manhattan Strip engaged to race at Northam today.
