Bargain buy Let’s Galahvant scored his second win from five starts at York on Thursday when taking out the Nutrien AG Solutions Handicap (1200m).
A $10,000 purchase at the 2020 Perth Magic Millions sale, the Galah three-year-old was heavily supported into $4.40 favouritism before defeating Old Bailey ($9.50) by just under a length and boosting his career earnings to $39,850.
Rider Joseph Azzopardi sent Let’s Galahvant forward from barrier nine and settled the gelding three lengths off speedy pacemaker Old Bailey ($9.50) before collaring the leader at the 100m mark and pulling away over the final stages.
All On Black ($8) finished in third place, beaten two-and-a-quarter lengths.
Let’s Galahvant has now finished in the first four placings at four of his five starts to date.
Meanwhile, stablemate and $592,985-earner Dig Deep is set to make his race return in next Saturday’s $200,000 Group 3 Belmont Sprint (1400m) at Belmont.
