Street Boss filly Street Fury will launch her winter campaign at Belmont today.

The rising four-year-old hasn’t raced since finishing fifth to Epic Grey in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy (1200m) at Pinjarra on February 10.

The spirited chestnut has recorded three wins and four minor placings in nine career starts and trialled in good fashion when finishing a close second to You No What I Mean at Lark Hill on June 18.

William Pike has ridden the filly in six of her nine starts and retains the mount in today’s Mumm Champagne Handicap (1000m).

Street Fury is rated a $3.70 chance in pre-post markets behind Danny George ($2.80) and has drawn the outside barrier in a field of eight.

Ben and Dan Pearce have four other runners engaged on the eight-race card, including Vital Silver, a winner at four of seven starts to date.

The progressive Wanted gelding is the early $3.10 pre-post favourite for the Gate Bar and Bistro Leading Rider 2017/18 Handicap (1300m) with leading apprentice Tayla Stone aboard.

He scored a dominant win in the Sky Racing TV Provincial Championship Series final (1400m) two starts ago, however, endured a tough run when settled towards the top of frantic tempo before fading to finish eighth on June 9.

The big grey looks ideally suited jumping from barrier one today and the Pearce brothers expect him to enjoy a favourable run in transit and bounce back to his best.

Meanwhile, Pushin’ Shapes ($31) will again stake his claim for Group Three glory when he lines up in the $150,000 Strickland Stakes (2000m) later in the program.

The Viscount five-year-old finished sixth to Material Man ($1.50 fav) in the Hyperion Stakes (1600m) a fortnight ago and looks unlikely to turn-the-tables on that galloper when they meet again today under weight-for-age conditions.

Alan Kennedy is booked to ride Pushin’ Shapes and the pair will jump from barrier four in a nine-horse field.

Tough gelding Superior Smile ($19) will have the 11th start of his campaign in the TABtouch Handicap (1400m) after finishing second to Battle Torque in a 1600m Northam event eight day’s ago.

The Patronize three-year-old has drawn suitably in barrier two and will have the services of talented apprentice Jordan Turner in the saddle.

The Pearce stable will saddle-up the last of their Belmont runners, Let’s Twist ($41), in the Inglis Bloodstock Leading Trainer 2017/18 Handicap (1600m).

The Statue Of Liberty five-year-old has been unplaced in five starts since scoring back-to-back Bunbury wins in the autumn.
